metal corrosion
Metal corrosion is caused by electrolytic action between damp or wet metal or heating / cooling systems via any other than absolutely dry contact to the Earth. It is named electrolysis corrosion or electrolytic action. Electrolytic action is particles of metal being dissolved from your metal by battery current. Battery current is DC - Direct Current so always flows in the same direction. AC (Mains power) is Alternating Current that reverses direction every half cycle (Hertz or 1/60 or 1/50 second) so dissolved particles will be replaced every half cycle. So AC cannot cause electrolysis corrosion. All electronics must use DC. All electrolysis is eliminated by the SeaBis System under actual live use conditions - guaranteed in writing here. In doubt? Ask any manufacturing jeweller how he plates gold onto base metal. The gold is your (metal / engine / hull) damp or wet metal and the (jewelry) base metal is the Earth. External reference: Wikipedia

Process of Elimination instructions for Vessels, Train Controls, Installations, Vehicles, Plumbing, Street Lighting and Power:
Process of Elimination Instructions
Briefly:
Assuming the Bat – (right side) red LED is on or flashing:
•Where dual pole breakers are installed (they are circuit breakers at the Breaker / Fuse box that have two vertical levers connected to one horizontal operating lever so both battery negative and positive are disconnected by the one horizontal lever) just operate one breaker so it is Open and if SeaBis indicates Normal then that circuit was causing electrolysis corrosion. See rear section (supplied with SeaBis System) of Process of Elimination instructions to eliminate the cause.
•If you get other than Normal then electrolysis current is still present, leave that breaker Open and operate the next.
•Repeat until you have a permanent Normal.
•Close one breaker at a time to test that circuit. The breaker than causes other then Normal is the circuit causing electrolysis.
OR
Unplug / disconnect acquirements battery negative and positive until SeaBis indicates Normal.
Reconnect one equipment at a time, disconnecting any that cause electrolysis.
Whichever equipment is now without power was the cause. Follow Process of Elimination instructions to repair / replace the cause.
OR
•Find the connection strip for battery negatives. It connects all the black battery negative wires together and is often in the Fuse / Breaker Box. Disconnect one wire at a time and see if SeaBis indicates Normal.
•If the still have other than Normal then there MUST be circuit/s still connected.
•Repeat until you have a permanent Normal.
•Touch connect one wire at a time. Label any that cause other than Normal and leave them disconnected.
•Reconnect the remainder. You should have Normal.
The equipment now without power was the cause. Follow Process of Elimination instructions to repair / replace the cause.
Assuming the Bat + (left side) red LED is on or flashing:
A fire risk exists as the fault may be bypassing the breaker / fuse. Your vessels wiring may become the fuse and a fire may result. Immediate action is essential to identify and repair the cause. It is usually insulation failure. The diagnostic procedure is the same as above.
Other Indicators:
Caution LED and AC Only LED details are included in Process of Elimination.
AC Only LED is caused to flash by ongoing battery damage. The cause is eliminated by the SeaBis System.
Typical faults and repairs are included with the supply of the Seabis System.
Can I complete Process of Elimination while out of the water?
Yes to 99.9% of causes. There will be some moisture in the engine cooling passages that will simulate being in the water. The remaining 0.1% requires the cooling passages to be pressurised by the cooling water pump, so the senders can be pressure tested for leaks.
Can I get assistance?
98% find Process of Elimination Instructions adequate to eliminate all electrolysis. However, yes. E-mail, phone or Skype World-wide assistance can be purchased at seabis.com/products.html. We will cooperate with yourself and / or your nominated person.
My Rig has more than 5 battery banks, can you assist?
Yes. The cause/s is permanently eliminated by the SeaBis System. You do not need to buy more than one SeaBis. Contact Glen Bishop: seabis@bigpond.com or phone +61 (0)8 8552 4711 or we can set up a World-wide audio / video link.
3 year money back guarantee applies. There is a 5% chance you will require assistance. If in any doubt:Glen Bishop: seabis@bigpond.com
