Can AC or shore power cause corrosion?

AC is short for Alternating Current. It reverses direction every half Cycle or Hertz. So, IF it takes off a particle in first half Hertz it will replace it in second half Hertz. So AC cannot cause marine corrosion.

What does cause corrosion?

Stray current - Direct (battery) Current, is the ONLY cause of corrosion.

Will my multi meter / fish / probe / reference or half cell help?

They all measure or apply voltage to that of every vessel within 150 meters. The cause is stray CURRENT. So, they will not help.

Will more anodes help?

The CAUSE is stray current that is at least 1,000 to 1,000,000 times the protective ability of anodes. So, anodes will not help. So, prevent the CAUSE - stray current.

Can my corrosion be caused by galvanic (different metals)?

Different metals such as stainless and aluminium, in proximity, are the ONLY cause of galvanic corrosion. 99.9% is caused by marine electrolysis.
